Prior to attending law school, Mr. Galasso worked in the corporate sector. His clients were several large corporations, including Swiss Bank, Ernst & Young, Unilever and Coldwell Banker. Mr. Galasso assisted clients who were relocating both national and international employees to the New York/New Jersey area.
While working as a corporate relocation consultant, Mr. Galasso attended college in New Jersey at Montclair State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1996. After graduating college, Mr. Galasso attended law school at the University of Miami School of Law, located in Coral Gables, Florida, just outside of the city of Miami. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami in 1999, where he graduated with honors.
While in law school, Mr. Galasso interned for the Guardian Ad Litem in Miami where he assisted their staff attorneys in matters regarding neglected and abused children whose cases were brought before the Dependency Court. He also interned at the Office of the United States Bankruptcy Trustee in Miami. However, Mr. Galasso quickly realized that his true passion was for practicing law in the courtroom, not from behind a desk.
In 1999, Mr. Galasso then began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the State Attorney's Office for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit in southwest Florida. He has conducted jury trials for a variety of cases ranging from DUI's and drug-trafficking, to sex crimes and other violent crimes, including 1st and 2nd degree murders.
Mr. Galasso became the Firearms Coordinator for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, responsible for prosecuting serious gun crimes. He was then appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida under President Bush's Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative. There Mr. Galasso prosecuted cases in federal court for violent crimes involving firearms used in interstate commerce and bank robbery.
In 2006, since leaving the State Attorney's Office and his appointment to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Mr. Galasso has become a partner and managing member with the law firm of Leskovich Law Group, P.A. As a senior trial attorney with the firm, Mr. Galasso has conducted many jury trials in defense of his clients on the same types of crimes that he once prosecuted, which includes 1st and 2nd degree murder, cyber crimes, drug trafficking, prescription fraud, sex crimes as well as DUI and other traffic offenses.
