In 2006, after leaving the State Attorney's Office and his appointment to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Attorney Galasso joined Leskovich Law Group, P.A. as a partner and managing member. As a senior trial attorney with the firm, Mr. Galasso has conducted many jury trials in defense of his clients on the same types of crimes that he once prosecuted, which includes:
- First degree murder
- Second degree murder
- Cyber crimes
- Drug trafficking
- Prescription fraud
- Sex crimes
- Other traffic offenses
Galasso’s Education and Background
Prior to attending law school, Attorney Galasso worked in the corporate sector. He assisted clients who were relocating both national and international employees to the New York/New Jersey area as well as several large corporations, including:
- Swiss Bank
- Ernst & Young
- Coldwell Banker
While working as a corporate relocation consultant, Attorney Galasso attended Montclair State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1996. After completing his undergraduate coursework, Attorney Galasso attended the University of Miami School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1999, graduating with honors.
While in law school, Attorney Galasso interned for the Guardian Ad Litem in Miami where he assisted their staff attorneys in matters regarding neglected and abused children whose cases were brought before the Dependency Court. Additionally, he interned at the Office of the United States Bankruptcy Trustee in Miami. Soon after, Attorney Galasso quickly realized that his true passion was for practicing law in the courtroom, not from behind a desk.
The Start of His Legal Career
In 1999, Mr. Galasso began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the State Attorney's Office for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit in southwest Florida. He has conducted jury trials for a variety of cases ranging from DUI's and drug-trafficking, to sex crimes and other violent crimes, including 1st and 2nd degree murders.
Mr. Galasso became the Firearms Coordinator for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, responsible for prosecuting serious gun crimes. He was then appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida under President Bush's Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative. There Mr. Galasso prosecuted cases in federal court for violent crimes involving firearms used in interstate commerce and bank robbery.
